Seeking a Homeschool Product Development Manager

Book publisher seeks experienced curriculum writer for the position of Homeschool Product Development Manager to create new projects with an emphasis on Christian education. Bachelor’s degree and strong emphasis in writing/editing required.

  The Homeschool Product Development Manager is responsible for creating and co-ordinating the development, writing, and editing of new educational resources for all age levels in the areas of science, history, and apologetics. Areas of product development will include VBS, Sunday school, homeschool and supplemental Christian school materials - and all will include aspects related to creation science vs. evolution.

  Duties and Responsibilities:
·        Product development through existing company contacts, as well as appropriate freelance
         professionals including writers, editors, and even pre-press individuals on a per contract basis.
·        Write curricula for various age and grade levels with Bible/science integration.
·        Initial editing and proofing prior to submission to internal proofing process.
·        Coordinate cover graphic design ideas and back cover copy with company’s Art Department.
·        Represent the company at occasional homeschool/Christian education events as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
·        Bachelor’s degree.
·        Experience writing Bible-based curriculum.
·        Graphic design/illustration experience a plus.
·        Background in science curriculum writing preferred.

·        Extensive knowledge of Christian education issues and concerns.
·        An understanding and commitment to conservative Christian worldview.
·        A basic working knowledge of national and state standards for curricula among Christian schools,
         and appropriate guidelines among homeschooling families.
·        Excellent writing and editing/proofing skills.
·        Research skills.
·        Ability to work under deadlines.
·        Excellent communication and organizational skills.
·        Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position will be based on experience and educational credentials.
