Candidate should present a varied portfolio demonstrating strong aesthetic sense and expertise in Adobe InDesign CS, PhotoShop, and Illustrator, in Mac platform. Must have knowledge of pre-press and four-color printing, experience with print vendors, and the ability to take projects from concept to finish. This person is responsible for completing all projects on a timely basis, allowing for review and approval as required.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in the design and production of various projects
• Assist in the design and production for any other in house projects
• Perform text and graphic updates to various marketing pieces.
• Work with editorial staff on all projects to ensure that all work is correct
• Work with art director to finalize designs
• Reprints: A. Contact appropriate people about changes
B. Make corrections
C. Work with editorial staff to ensure accuracy
D. Package and send to printer
• Research
• Fulfill Graphic Department requests from other departments
• Basic layout
• Book corrections
• Work with Marketing Department to produce support materials
• Oversee printing and finishing of in-house materials
Qualifications:
· A good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator (CS3)
· An understanding of the pre-press to print workflow
· Research skills
· Ability to work under deadlines
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines.
